BANDUNG, REKAMJABAR.com – Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI) Jawa Barat mendesak Kepolisian Republik Indonesia (Polri) untuk segera menyelidiki kasus perusakan hutan dan tambang ilegal yang diduga jadi salah satu penyebab banjir di Sukabumi.
Sebelumnya WALHI Jawa Barat sudah melakukan investigasi dan menemukan beberapa aktivitas perusakan hutan dan tambang ilegal di kawasan hutan di bebrapa wilayah terdampak bencana Kabupaten Sukabumi.
“Kami sudah terjunkan Tim Investigasi sejak Selasa, 03 Desember 2024 kemarin,” ujar Wahyudin, Direktur Eksekutif WALHI Jawa Barat saat menghubungi Rekamjabar, Jumat (13/12/2024) kemarin.
Dari hasil investigasi ditemukan beberapa aktivitas perusakan hutan dan tabang ilegal di kawasan terdampak bencana di Sukabumi. Temuan tersebut diantaranya degradasi kawasan hutan pegunungan Guha dan Dano di Jampang Tengah, degradasi hutan untuk pembukaan lahan proyek Hutan Tanaman Energi (HTE) di Desa Waluran, tambang emas ilegal di kawasan hutan Ciemas, Simpenan serta petak 93 Bojong Pari dan Cimantingin dengan luas 96,11 ha.

WALHI Jabar menilai peruakan hutan, alih fungsi paksa hutan dan tambang ilegal yang ditemukan menjadi salah satu penyebab bencana di Sukabumi.
Buntut dari hal tersebut WALHI Jabar mendesak Polri dan pemerintah pusat untuk menyelidiki kasus tersebut.
“WALHI meminta Polri agar melakukan penegakan hukum tindak pidana lingkungan,” ujar Wahyudin.
WALHI Jabar juga menuntut perusahaan terkait untuk bertanggung jawab atas perusakan hutan yang dilakukan untuk kepentingan proyek tersebut.
“Kepada pemerintah kami mendesak agar menuntut perusahaan untuk melakukan pemulihan lingkungan, mengganti kerugian yang diderita masyarakat dan mengevaluasi areal perhutanan sosial yang dijadikan objek tambang. Kami sangat keberatan jika pemulihan lingkungan dan sosial ekonomi masyarakat hanya dibebankan kepada negara,” ungkapnya.
Wahyudin menerangkan, hal tersebut dilakukan karena WALHI menilai kerusakan lingkungan yang jadi sebab bencana di Sukabumi terdapat andil besar perusahaan di dalamnya.
“Bencana ekologis yang telah memporakporandakan wilayah Sukabumi jelas karena adanya konribusi Perusahaan. Banjir bandang di Sukabumi karena adanya andil besar perusahaan dan karena keuangan negara bersumber dari kebanyakan pajak rakyat,” tambah Wahyudin.

Senada dengan Wahyudin, Manajer Penanganan dan Pencegahan Bencana WALHI, Melva mengatakan, pihaknya akan melayangkan gugatan kepada pihak-pihak yang dianggap bertanggung jawab atas bencana di Sukabumi pasca status tanggap darurat dicabut pemerintah.
“Kedepan pasca tanggap darurat dicabut pemerintah, kami mempertimbangkan untuk
menempuh jalur hukum terhadap pihak-pihak yang diduga kuat berkontribusi pada
bencana ekologis di Sukabumi,” ungkap Melva, saat menghubungi Nawacita, Jumat (13/12/2024) kemarin.
Ia juga mengungkapkan, berkaca dari bencana ekologis dan hidrometeorologis di Sukabumi, pihaknya berharap agar pemerintah tidak memberikan izin secara serampangan kepada perusahaan
“Kami berharap pemerintah tidak gegabah memberikan perizinan ke perusahaan ekstraktif dengan alasan investasi di sejumlah tempat bencana yang disumbang bahkan didalangi Perusahaan ekstraktif agar menjadi pembelajaran,” pungkasnya.
